Feinberg Collection of the Papers of Walt Whitman, 1839–1919, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.). On April 15 he sent the volumes to Howard Roberts (1843–1900), a sculptor whom he met on March 12, 1879, at a dinner attended by Furness (Whitman's Commonplace Book). [back]
