On two light blue Williamsburgh tax blanks (21.5 x 12 cm), in light brown ink,
with minor revisions. A few pinholes at the head and in the center. A blue pencil
question mark appears to the left of the first line on the second form. The lines
on the first leaf became verses 1-9 of section 7 of "Calamus" in 1860, and the second leaf's lines ("To me
all these, and the/ like of these,..."] became verses 10-16. Retitled "Of the Terrible Doubt of
Appearances" in 1867.
