Sixty-Nine,"
"To Get the Final Lilt of
Songs," all published first in 1888. In addition
to corrections, Whitman has written a note to the printer at the top of
the page. Also included is an envelope with "printer's proofs, short
poems, Walt Whitman, 1888, (autographic)" written on it.

Songs," which was first published in the April 16, 1888 issue of the New York
Herald
under the title "The Final Lilt of Songs." It was later included, under its final title, in the "Sands at Seventy" annex to the so-called deathbed edition of
Leaves of Grass
(1891–92).
