and on the reverse of the fourth leaf is a draft fragment of the opening
lines of a poem first published in the
Galaxy
(September 1867) as "A Carol of Harvest, for 1867," which was
ultimately titled "The Return
of the Heroes,"
Leaves of Grass
(1881–1882).
