Attorney General's Office. August 2, 1865. Hon. J. E. Wycke, Associate Justice of Washington Territory: Sir: Your application of July 31st for leave of absence from your Territory, has been received and considered. It appearing that the cause shown therefor is a good one, the application is granted,—and you are at liberty to be absent for a period of six months from the 1st of July, 1865. Please report the date of your arrival in your Territory. Very respectfully Your obedient servant, J. Hubley Ashton, Acting Attorney General.
