Sept. 27, 1866. To Hon. S. G. Courtney, U. S. Attorney, New York City Sir: I am directed by the Attorney General to say, in reply to your letter of the 25th inst. that you are hereby instructed to enter a nolle prosequi in the case of the United States vs. Roberts, now under indictment in your District for a violation of the Neutrality Laws.
