October 8, 1866. To Hon. O. H. Browning, Secretary of the Interior. Sir: I am directed by the Attorney General to transmit you herewith the account, approved by him, & amounting to Five hundred dollars, ($500.00) of Walbridge A. Field, for services as Assistant to R. H. Dana, Jr. Esq. U. S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, from July 1st, 1866 to October 1st, 1866; & to request its payment out of the appropriate fund. Very respectfully, &c. M. F.
