March 9, 1869. Hon. N. P. Banks, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C. Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 8th inst. relative to the case of the U. S. appellants, vs. B. Wiggin et al., on appeal from the Court of Claims. I have referred your communication to the Assistant Attorney General in charge of cases in & from the Court of Claims, & requested him to report upon the expediency & propriety of complying with the request you have made.
