May 11, 1869 Thos. J. Durant, Esq. Washington, D. C. Sir: The Attorney General directs me to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 10th inst. relative to the case of the United States vs. 6 Lots of ground, property of T. J. Semmes; and to say that he has forwarded to the U. S. Attorney at New Orleans instructions in the case, a copy of which will be furnished to you on your application to him. Very Resp. yours, M. F.
