January 13, 1871. Hon. G. W. French. Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Dakota Terr. Yankton. Sir: Your letter of the 5th instant to the Hon. H. Hamlin, relative to a leave of absence, has been referred by him to this Department. The leave which you request, namely, for thirty days, dating from the 22d of January instant, is hereby granted.
