March 13, 1871. Hon. Richard Busteed, U. S. Dist. Judge, Alabama. Sir: I have the honor to enclose herewith a commission appointing Robert W. Healy to be Marshal of the United States for the Southern District of Alabama—and to request you to hand it to him when he shall have given the bond, and taken the oath required by law. I am sir, very respectfully, &c. A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
