Hon. Geo. S. Boutwell,
Secretary of the Treasury.
I have received your letter of the 28th inst., with accompanying papers, all relating to the case of Michael Freeman, arising under the Internal Revenue laws. Freeman proposes to pay a tax of $328, and all costs. I recommend that this offer be accepted. The papers are returned.
W. A. Field,
Acting Attorney General.
