Dec. 21, 1871. Hon. George P. Fisher, U. S. Attorney, Washington, D. C. Sir: In view of the state of the funds under the control of this Department for defraying the expenses of the Courts, I do not feel at liberty to direct the continuance of the employment of Mr. A. B.
