Dec. 15, 1871. B. W. Lee, Esq. Holly Springs, Miss. Sir: You are hereby appointed Assistant to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi, for the space of one year, unless the employment shall be sooner terminated by this Department. Your compensation will be at the rate of $200 a year. You will take and transmit to this Department the oath required of District Attorneys. Very respectfully, A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
