Aug. 16, 1871. Hon. Columbus Delano, Secretary of the Interior. Sir: Referring to your letter of the 15th ultimo, relative to having the repairs and alterations of the Charleston Club House Building made under the supervision and direction of the U.S. Marshal for South Carolina, I have the honor to enclose herewith a copy of a letter from Marshal Johnson, and the bond and contract made by him with W. R. Hoyt for the work. Very respectfully, A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
