Sept. 2, 1871. Hon. W. W. Belknap, Secretary of War. Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 29th ultimo, enclosing certain additional papers in relation to the fraudulent transactions of Lieut. B. F. Wayne, and to inform you that I have transmitted the same to the District Attorney of Kentucky. Very respectfully, &c. A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
