Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 7th instant, withdrawing your previous request for an opinion upon the subject of Mr. H. S. Wetmore's removal from the office of ordinary of Chatham Co. Georgia, by the Commander of the Third Military District.

In pursuance of your request, I herewith return the papers which have been referred to me in connection with the case.
