Referring to my letter addressed to you under date of the 3d instant, relative to the case of Charles Hill and Dick Shephard, I have now the honor to enclose herewith a copy of a letter upon the same subject addressed to this Department under date of the 9th inst. by the Attorney of the U.S. for the Dist. of Louisiana.
