YEAR THAT TREMBLED AND REEL'D
BENEATH ME.

YEAR that trembled and reel'd beneath me!

me;
Must I change my triumphant songs? said I to myself;
Must I indeed learn to chant the cold dirges of the baf-
fled?
And sullen hymns of defeat?
