Washington, D.C.
Dec 18', 1882.

Dear Walt:

I have your cheery letter of yesterday. Charley Eldridge (his address, by the way, is Internal Revenue Office, Boston,) has just sent me the London Nineteenth Century, which I will try to read tonight. I am working hard, hoping to soon work through. More anon.

In haste
Faithfully
W.D.O'C.
