My Dear Friend,

The Box for your brother, Captain Whitman, was sent on the 10th. There will be no doubt of its reaching him as it was delivered to Col. Mulford personally who promised to give it particular attention. The letter will go by 1st Flag of Truce. I am very glad to be able to do all this for you, and anything else you may desire.

Truly your friend
J. W. Mason
