                very few lines this time i <choice><orig>receeved</orig><reg>received</reg></choice> your
            letter to day <choice><orig>wensday</orig><reg>Wednesday</reg></choice>i<ptr target="duk.00582_n17"/> <choice><orig>withe</orig> <reg>with</reg></choice> the contents all
            safe and i have been down to the post
            office and got the order changed it come
            good as we had got rather run ashore
            but <choice><orig>walter</orig><reg>Walter</reg></choice> dear i had <choice><orig>enoughf</orig> <reg>enough</reg></choice> to get
            along i <choice><orig>dont</orig> <reg>don't</reg></choice> know how i should get
            on without you <choice><orig>walt</orig><reg>Walt</reg></choice> but i suppose
            there would be some way they <choice><orig>dont</orig> <reg>don't</reg></choice>
            think that i have no way but what is
            given to me i suppose <choice><orig>george</orig><reg>George</reg></choice><ptr target="duk.00556_n3"/> thinks
            he finds me a house for his part
            well its good and i am <choice><orig>thankfull</orig> <reg>thankful</reg></choice>
                as we have never or not late year<unclear reason="illegible" resp="#wr" cert="medium">s</unclear>
            been fixed so nicely but at the
            same time we must have something else
            i have stood the hot weather pretty
            well it has been very warm indeed
            here and every where i suppose) i have
            had my face swelled and red and
            pricked so i <choice><orig>dident</orig> <reg>didn't</reg></choice> know what
            to <choice><orig>doo</orig> <reg>do</reg></choice> it is bloated some yet but
                <choice><orig>dont</orig> <reg>don't</reg></choice> feel such a heat as <unclear reason="illegible" resp="#wr" cert="medium">i</unclear><ptr target="duk.00582_n16"/> 
            have i
            think it must be the heat because i
            <choice><orig>havent</orig> <reg>haven't</reg></choice> been out in the sun so its not
                that) i have had a letter from  <choice><orig>jeffy</orig><reg>Jeffy</reg></choice><ptr target="duk.00422_n2"/>
                and one from <choice><orig>matty</orig><reg>Matty</reg></choice><ptr target="duk.00573_n7"/> since i last wrote
            to you they both come <choice><orig>emty</orig> <reg>empty</reg></choice> but i
            suppose they have ways for all they
            have <choice><orig>dont</orig> <reg>don't</reg></choice> think i suppose <choice><orig>matty</orig><reg>Matty</reg></choice> says
                she is certainly coming on here this fall<ptr target="duk.00582_n1"/>
            they have got intimately acquainted with
            a railroad agent so they think they can
            come free</p>

            gone longer this time than any
            time yet i expect he will be
            home on <choice><orig>saturday</orig> <reg>Saturday</reg></choice> O <choice><orig>walt</orig><reg>Walt</reg></choice> the papers
            came all safe i shall read
            them to night i am glad to get a
            paper i <choice><orig>dont</orig> <reg>don't</reg></choice> take any when <choice><orig>george</orig><reg>George</reg></choice>
                is gone only the little morning union<ptr target="duk.00582_n12"/>
            a <choice><orig>peny</orig> <reg>penny</reg></choice> paper its better than none
                i <choice><orig>beleive</orig> <reg>believe</reg></choice> i <choice><orig>wont</orig> <reg>won't</reg></choice> write any more
                i feel so tired so good by Walt</p>
