Image Resizing

  1. Open Adobe PhotoShop
  2. Open file(s) to resize


A. To resize for STANDARD image:

  1. Choose Image then Image Size
  2. In the Image Size dialogue box enter: Resolution: 72 dpi Width/Height: 700 px
  3. Click OK
  4. Choose File then Save As
  5. Rename and save the file appropriately (e.g.: nyp.00001.001.jpg)
  6. In the JPEG Options dialogue box enter Quality: 6 [High]
  7. Click OK


B. To resize for LARGE image:

  1. Choose Image then Image Size
  2. In the Image Size dialogue box enter: Resolution: 150 dpi Width/Height: allow automatic px
  3. Click OK
  4. Choose File then Save As
  5. Rename and save the file appropriately (e.g.: nyp.00001.001.jpg)
  6. In the JPEG Options dialogue box enter Quality: 7 [High]
  7. Click OK


C. To resize for ZOOMIFY image:

  1. Follow instructions for resizing LARGE image
  2. Choose File then Save As
  3. Rename and save the file appropriately (e.g.: nyp.00001.001.jpg) to the C:\zoomify directory
  4. In the JPEG Options dialogue box enter Quality: 12 [Maximum]
  5. Click OK
  6. Drag and drop the .jpg file onto the Zoomifyer EZ v3.0.exe file [This step will create a file folder with the name of the image.jpg]
  7. Open NoteTab Pro
  8. Use the zoomify clipbook and follow the dialogue box prompts to create (e.g.:) nyp.00001.001_zoom.html file


D. Using WinSCP or another approved filed transfer program, upload the images files you have created to the figures folder, including file folder created by the zoomify exe process and the _zoom.html file.


Note: Install the Zoomifyer.exe by unzipping the files on the CD (contact Brett Barney in the CDRH if you cannot locate the CD). If the Zoomify action is not working properly, check to make sure that the clip library is saved in the appropriate NoteTab program folder (NoteTab, NoteTab Pro, NoteTab Pro 5, etc.).
