Date: 1891
Place: Camden
Photographer: Thomas Eakins or Samuel Murray, Philadelphia
Note: Both Eakins and Murray (Eakin's student and associate) took photographs of Whitman during 1891, and distinguishing them is difficult. Whitman is in the same chair wearing the same clothes and tapestry cape as in two similar photographs. The photograph was taken in the first-floor parlor of Whitman's home.
