This catalog was created, in part, from a catalog record and a photocopied image of the original manuscript obtained by the Walt Whitman Archive. The original manuscript and catalog record are held at Brigham Young University.
Brigham Young University has two Whitman manuscripts, a late draft of The Prairie States and a letter to "Harry" about setting a poem in type for a newspaper. This catalog only describes at item-level the document deemed a poetry manuscript.
