Walt Whitman to Franklin B. Sanborn, 25 July [1880]

Should be delighted to accept it [an invitation] and be with you all—but I start to-morrow morning on a three weeks' trip over the Lakes, the St. Lawrence & up the Saguenay—I have been pretty ill but am now better & the doctor thinks the trip will do me good.
