Sir:
I am directed by the Attorney General to transmit herewith a Commission appointing you to be Attorney of the United States for the Eas. Dist. of Louisiana; and to request that you send, along with a copy of your official oath, a statement of the place of your nativity for the Biennial Register. I am also directed by the Attorney General to request that you will await a letter from him, which he will write at his earliest leisure.
