February 6, 1868 Hon. H. T. Backus, Associate Justice, Supreme Court, Tucson, Arizona Terr. Sir: The Attorney General, in reply to your application for leave of absence, made through Hon. J. M. Howard, under date of January 25th. 1868, directs me to say that you are hereby granted such a leave as may be required for the purpose indicated in the application, and consistent with the public interest.
