June 10, 1868. Hon. John W. Leftwich Mayor of Memphis, Tenn. Sir: I have the honor to enclose for your information a copy of our letter of this date to the Secretary of War, respecting the Navy yard property of the city of Memphis—the subject of your letter of the 28th ultimo, to the President. Respectfully, your obedient servant, John M. Binckley, Assistant Attorney Gen'l.
