July 30, 1869.
Hon. Hamilton Fish,
Secretary of State,
Sir:
I have the honor to enclose to you some accounts received from the Marshal of the Southern District of New York, together with a letter from him directed to this Department. I believe no other action is required respecting them by this Department, and I would ask you to be so kind as to return the letter when you have read it—taking a copy of it, of course, if you
desire to do so.
Very Respectfully, &c. &c.
E. R. Hoar,
Attorney General.
Certain Acct's. U. S. Marshal New York
