September 28, 1869. Hon. C. M. Hawley, Associate Justice Sup. Court, Salt Lake City, Utah. Sir: The Attorney General directs me to say in reply to your letter of the 15th inst. that the condition of your health, as therein stated, is a sufficient justification for the leave of absence which you request—and it is therefore granted, as desired. Very respectfully yours, M. F. Pleasants, Chief Clerk.
