The letter of John S. Stott, which you transmitted to this office with your endorsement, dated the 9th inst. has been received and considered. I have sent a copy of it
to the U. S. Marshal for the Northern Dist. of New York, with an intimation that Mr. Stott is not a fit person to remain in the public service.
