Sir:
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 18th inst. transmitting the account of Alexander Porter Morse, Esq. for services as translator for the United States, before the American Mexican Claims Commission, for the months of July, August, and September, and to inform you that the same has been approved and referred to the fifth Auditor of the Treasury, for settlement. A draft for the amount thereof will be sent to Mr. Morse in the regular course of official business.
