THE WATER WORKS.—

Up to the present time one hundred and sixty permits have been issued for the introduction of water into buildings. Of these, but one is in Williamsburgh, the single instance being the proprietor of the Odeon. Our people are as a general thing too cautious to act before they "see their way clear."
