CHRISTMAS TIME

Probably there never was a Christmas better enjoyed by the people at large than that which has just passed. The weather was cool and bracing, yet not sufficiently frigid to cause discomfort; the circumstances of the public generally were of such a kind as enabled them to make appropriate provision of the good things of this life; and an increasing tendency was exhibited this year to give the Christmas festival its due importance in the circle of holidays.
