☞Mrs. Bennett1, the wife of the editor of the Herald,2 is expected home about the 7th of next month. The residence of the family at Fort Washington, lately purchased, is being fitted up in a style worthy of a marchioness. Every department is being prepared by artistes in their particular line, and in fact the most lavish expenditures are being made to make her residence in this vulgar, democratic country as acceptable as possible. Yet after all, it is feared she will not consent to stay among us more than a few months.
