NEW PUBLICATION.—

We have received a new work from the press of the Messrs. Peterson of Philadelphia, called "Piney Woods Tavern, or Sam Slick in Texas." The work is a vivid picture of Texan life and adventure, and abounds in spirited, graphic and mirth-moving descriptions of scenes and events. The humor is exceedingly broad, but it is genuine, and those of our readers who have an appreciation for broad farce will find their account in buying the book. We may make an extract from its pages very shortly, and give the reader a taste of its quality. The illustrations are excellent, and the getting up is in the best style of the Messrs. Peterson, 301 Chestnut street, Philadelphia.
