HARPER’S MAGAZINE,1 for August has been received. The number abounds, as usual, in capital wood-cuts and interesting reading matter. The illustrated articles are “A Winter in the South,” the “Romance of Wyoming,” and “Vagabondizing in Belgium.” The tales in the present issue are very good. This is a department that in “Harper” is never neglected. Altogether we can recommend “Harper” as a companion for a summer tour or as a holiday book in general.
