Walt Whitman to Mr. Gunther, [19 April 1886]

I have received from W. Bushell $5.00 (for Mr. Gunther) for MS page furnished him by me.2

As yet we have no information about this correspondent.

  • 2. On May 28 Whitman sold Bushell twenty copies of the 1876 edition of Leaves of Grass and Two Rivulets, and received $80 on June 5 (Whitman's Commonplace Book, Charles E. Feinberg Collection of the Papers of Walt Whitman, 1839–1919, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.). The receipt for this transaction is in the Whitman House, Camden. [back]
