Sir:
By direction of the Attorney General I transmit herewith the acc't, by him approved, amounting to three hundred & seventy five dollars ($375.00) of J. S. Smith, Esq. for legal services as assistant of Wm. A. Dart, Esq. U. S. Attorney for the northern Dist. of New York from April 1st to June 30th 1866, inclusive, & request its payment out of the appropriate fund.
