Hon. O. H. Browning,

Secretary of the Interior.

Sir:

By direction of the Attorney General I have the honor to transmit herewith the account, by him approved, & amounting to Two hund and fifty dollars, ($250.00) of John G. Chandler for services as assistant to B. H. Smith, U. S. Attorney for the District of West Virginia, from April 1st to October 1st, 1866—and to request its payment out of the appropriate fund.
