Sir:
By direction of the Attorney General, I have the honor to transmit herewith the account, approved by him, & amounting to Three hundred & seventy five dollars, ($375.00) of J. Sterling Smith, as Second Assistant to Wm. A. Dart, Esq. U. S. Attorney, Northern Dist. New York, for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 1866—and to request its payment out of the appropriate fund.
