Hon. O. H. Browning,

Secretary of the Interior.

Sir:

I am directed by the Attorney General to transmit herewith the acc't., approved by him, & amounting to Five hundred dollars, ($500.00) of Lewis S. Dabney, for services as assistant to Richard H. Dana, jr. U. S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, from July 1st 1866, to October 1st 1866; & to request its payment out of the appropriate fund.
