Henry Welton, Esq.

No. 6 Ringgold st. Boston Mass.

Sir:

I am directed by the Attorney General to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 18th inst., & to say in reply, that full instructions were sent by the late Attorney General to the U. S. Attorney for Massachusetts relative to the case of the Wanderer. Those instructions have not been modified, & will no doubt be submitted for your inspection, should you desire it.
