Sir:
I am directed by the Attorney General to say, in reply to your letter of the 19th inst. that this office has no information in regard to the case of J. Lowenthal. If any proceedings have been instituted against him by the U. S., you will obtain any information you may desire relative thereto, from Hon. P. H. Morgan, the U. S. Dist. Attorney, to whom you are respectfully referred.
