Referring to your letter of the 6th August last, covering a Report of the Acting Comptroller of the Currency respecting the duty of the United States Attorneys under the 56th Section of the Currency Act, I have the honor to enclose herewith information of the decision of the Attorney General in the premises, addressed to the District Attorney of New Orleans, under this date.
