Speaker of House of Representatives

Sir:

In reply to the Resolution of the House of Representatives, passed December 11, 1867, I have the honor to state that "the aggregate amount of the twenty-percent allowance to the clerks and employés of this Department for the year ending Thirtieth June, 1867, under the Act of Congress authorizing the payment thereof " —was Thirty six hundred and twenty-two dollars and seventy two cents. ($36,22:72,)
