Secretary of War, ad interim.

Sir:

In response to your request of the 4th instant, for the services of the Dist. Attorney, in the case of Hon. David Tod, late Governor of Ohio, enclosing a copy of Governor Tod's letter to you, I have the honor to enclose herewith a copy of my instructions to the District Attorney in the premises.
