The Secretary of the Interior.

Sir:

I have the honor to transmit, herewith, the account, approved by me, and amounting to Three hundred and fifty dollars ($350:) of James Haxby, for legal services in aid of S. A. Strickland, Esq. United States Attorney for the District of Nebraska, in the prosecution of Henry Keeler, for the murder of Charles Filer, on the military reservation of Fort Kearney; and to request its payment out of the appropriate fund.
