Hon. Hugh McCulloch,

Secretary of the Treasury.

Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of yesterday's date, with the accompanying papers, touching an indictment found against Special Agent George L. Little, in the Eastern District of Missouri, and to state that, in compliance with your request, I have this day addressed instructions to the United States Attorney for that District, to discontinue the prosecution—a copy of which is herewith enclosed.
